Tour 3:

Travel to Brazil / Tours – São Paulo – Curitiba is a medium level, combined hiking / trekking & mountain bike tour through the conservation units of the Atlantic Rainforest South-East Reserves World Heritage Site in the states of São Paulo and Paraná (see tour itinerary and map).

The first part of the tour follows the coast line, crossing the pioneer formation and tropical rainforest ecosystems of the Estuarine - Lagoon Complex Iguape - Cananéia - Paranaguá, including the nature reserves of Juréia-Itatins, Ilha do Cardoso, Superagüi and Marumbi. A historic train ride takes us to Curitiba, the capital of ecotourism in south Brazil.

The second part of the tour is dedicated to the Speleological Province Upper Ribeira Valley / Paranapiacaba, including the state parks of PETAR, Intervales and Carlos Botelho. Their fantastic karst landscapes expose the largest number of limestone caves in Brazil.
