Climate Zones


Generally speaking, temperatures increase from the South Pole to the Equator because the angle of the sun´s apparent path increases and with it the incidence angle of the sun - rays. On the other hand, the closer to the south, day length during the summer months become longer, reaching 24 hours of sunlight at the Antarctic Circle, on December 21.
Earth's surface is divided into the following climate zones:
• Tropics
• Subtropics
• Temperate Zone
• Polar Zone
The Tropic of Capricorn (23,5° S), which passes north of São Paulo, divides Brazil and the Atlantic Rainforest / (Mata Atlântica) into a tropical climate zone north and a subtropical climate zone, south of it – Adventure Travel / Brazil.
