Serra da Bocaina
Brazil Tours / Trekking – The rainforest hiking / walking & mountain biking trails at Serra da Bocaina National Park are located in the submontane, montane and high montane altitudinal zone between sea level and 2.200 m, with daily average walking times between 2 and 6 hours. These are mostly historical trails that were opened during the 15th century by the Indians and utilized during the 17th and 18th century for gold, precious stones and later coffee transport from the upper Paraíba Valley to the ports of Mambucaba and Paraty. There are also excellent mountain bike trails from the northern entrances to the park (Bananal, Formoso, São José do Barreiro) – Rainforest Tours / Brazil.
