Rainforest Trails / Brazil – The Serra do Mar mountain chain in the State of São Paulo (Serra do Mar State Park), with its magnificent escarpments, peninsulas and offshore islands, hides countless, unmarked rainforest hiking & walking trails. Predominantly tough hikes on steep, uneven trails, between sea level and 1.300 height meters. take you from the coastal lowland to the inland Paraíba Valley. Some of these historic trails (see Cubatão / Tupiniquins) were formerly used by Indians, Portuguese conquerers and Jesuit priests and led to the foundation of São Paulo in 1504 – Brazil / Travel & Tours.
