Brazil / Travel & Tours – The Tinharé & Boipeba Environmental Protection Area is a sustainable use conservation unit, of the Mata Atlântica Biosphere Reserve, on the south coast of Bahia State. The two islands, which are separated from each other by the Inferno - river, are located about 280 km southwest of Salvador, at the so-called Dende coast (see map).

Tinharé & Boipeba protect several estuarine ecosystems of the Atlantic Rainforest, such as mangroves, restinga and tropical rainforest. Many ecotourism opportunities, such as hiking and mountain biking on unmarked restinga and mangrove forest trails to Moreré, São Sebastião (Cova da Onça), Guarapuá and Morro de São Paulo – Rainforest Tours / Brazil.
